How does society treat those who are different?

Society is pretty messed up when you think bout it. If your different people like to push you around and make you feel like nothing or make you feel like no one likes you. Being different to me is a great thing, if you think bout it if everyone was the same this world would be nothing but boring. People that are different shouldn't be treated rudely, like they are. Slowly being different is being more accepted. In the first place being different should be accepted it shouldn't have been one of those things that people have to adapt to and take time to get use to. Not everyone is the same. So what if someone's different, let them be. People need to put them self's in some one shoes. They don't know why someone's different. They could have gone through something that changed them and people are going to sit there an judge them for it an treat them wrongly. People need to stop an think for a minute.

What does it mean to be human?

To be human you make a lot of mistakes no ones perfect at all. Mistakes are suppose to be made. That's how you learn the best, even if you make that mistake over and over again hopefully sooner or later you learn from it.

What was the authors purpose? I think the purpose to this story is to show people that even in a sad situation (like having cancer an dying) that you don't always have to be sad, you can still have fun and be happy in a sad situation.

How would the setting change effect the story? if Gus didn't go to the support group for his friend then Gus and Hazel wouldn't have met.

Favorite Character and why? My favorite character is Gus. he really smart, respectful, sweet and funny.

least favorite character, and why? My least favorite character is Guses friends Girlfriend. Shes rude and was using him and left him cause he went blind.
